Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Carlsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincenzo Crescenzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlsen fails with the takedown

and Crescenzo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Crescenzo.
Carlsen swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Carlsen tries to stall but Crescenzo uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

We've been informed that Crescenzo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Crescenzo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Carlsen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Amstadam MMA traning center in the buildup to the fight.

Carlsen has his foot on Crescenzo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crescenzo works his way back into a safe position though.

Carlsen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crescenzo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Crescenzo distracts Carlsen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Carlsen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Crescenzo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Crescenzo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Crescenzo cracks Carlsen with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Crescenzo immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Carlsen is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Crescenzo!
