Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Porter Myers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Edgar Forger!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Myers closes the distance and clinches.
Myers with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Forger manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Forger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Myers landing with the ground and pound.
Myers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Forger working a defensive guard but Myers manages to pass into side control anyway.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Myers in side control, throwing shots but Forger defends.
Myers creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Forger sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Myers stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Forger shoots in and gets a takedown into Myers's guard.

Myers pushes Forger off and scrambles back to his feet.

Myers instigates a clinch.
Forger tries to stall but Myers uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Forger is trying to trip Myers. He has hold of a leg but Myers is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Forger persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Myers is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Forger tries to stall but Myers uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Myers ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Myers no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Myers is looking for a triangle but Forger pushes his legs off easily.

Myers is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Forger stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Myers has Forger pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Myers pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Forger tumbling to the mat - Myers dives into Forger's guard.
Forger wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Myers manages to pass to side control.

Myers thows a huge punch but Forger dodges it nicely.
Forger has hold of Myers's hands but Myers slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Myers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Myers stands up and beckons Forger to join him on the feet.
Myers throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Forger on the side of the head.
Myers scores with a punch to the head.

Forger lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Myers circles away quickly and effectively.
Forger throws a lazy head kick
and Myers counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Forger is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Myers gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Forger to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Myers has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Forger off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Forger on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Porter Myers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Forger closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Forger lands in his opponent's guard.

Myers kicks Forger off and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Myers connects with a looping right hand.
Forger wants to clinch
and Myers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Forger tries to clinch up but Myers circles away and keeps his distance.
It looked like Myers wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Myers tries to sprawl but Forger drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Myers kicks Forger off and gets back to his feet.
Myers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Forger can do to turn this around?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Forger wants to clinch up but Myers keeps it at a distance.
Myers quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Myers rushes Forger and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Myers drags the fight down to the ground.
Myers pulls Forger in to control the position.
Forger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Myers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Forger throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Forger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Myers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Forger has managed to get both his arms back between Myers's legs - danger averted.
Myers is pulling down on Forger's head to control his posture.
Myers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Forger manages to get himself to full guard.

Forger tries to clinch but Myers is having none of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Forger is looking to advance position but Myers has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Myers looking to finish Forger with some ground and pound. This is bad for Forger!
Forger takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Myers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Forger is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Myers is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Forger is surviving well by controlling Myers's body position as best he can.
Forger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Myers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Myers thows a body kick. Forger tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Myers is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Forger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Myers wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Edgar Forger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Myers has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Forger is looking to control Myers's arms but Myers gets an underhook and turns him. Now Forger has his back to the cage.

A solid leg kick lands there for Forger.
Forger fails to land with a series of punches.
Forger tries a head kick but it misses.
Myers appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Forger is fighting to break Myers's control of his arms but Myers is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
