Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Jamison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's entrance music is Boombastic (Mr Lover Lover) by Shaggy. A fine choice. Jamison has chosen Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Fernando Diaz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carl Jamison!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jamison fails to land with a series of punches.
Diaz attempts a counter takedown but Jamison avoids it well and moves away.
Jamison misses with a left hand

and Diaz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jamison's guard.
Diaz sitting in guard here, content to control.
Diaz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Diaz is fighting to break Jamison's control of his arms but Jamison is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Diaz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jamison's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jamison tries to get to full guard but Diaz has control of the leg.
Diaz slows the pace down in half guard.

Diaz wants to pass to mount but Jamison is defending the position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jamison stuns Diaz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Diaz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Diaz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jamison lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Jamison moves into range and clinches up with Diaz.
Diaz fails to pull guard.

Jamison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Diaz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jamison looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Jamison misses with an uppercut.
Diaz connects with a body shot that sends Jamison's belly button to the back.
Jamison throws a poor cross that misses

and Diaz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jamison has managed to free his arm - good work.

Diaz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jamison knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Diaz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Diaz is working for a submission of some sort.

Jamison has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Diaz walks forward, straight into a front kick from Jamison.
Nice uppercut there from Jamison.

A swing and a miss from Jamison.
Diaz swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Diaz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Diaz ducks under a wild hook from Jamison.

A telegraphed right hand from Jamison misses the target.
Jamison ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diaz moves away.
Diaz tries to counter with a takedown but Jamison is quick to defend against it.
Diaz has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jamison finds it's way round the side to connect with Diaz's head.

so Diaz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Jamison is keeping the position.

Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jamison has Diaz pulled in close to control his posture.

Jamison can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diaz controls the pace.
Fernando Diaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Jamison keeps moving.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jamison lunges at Diaz with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Diaz's hand.
Carl Jamison seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jamison darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Jamison avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jamison throws a good cross that connects.
Diaz walks into a stiff left hand from Jamison.


Diaz is rocked!
Jamison cracks Diaz with a hook to the temple - Diaz is on wobbly legs here! Jamison swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Diaz falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Jamison wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Carl Jamison! Carl Jamison retains his lightweight title!
Post fight, Carl Jamison took to the microphone: 'You been hit by, you been struck by - a smooth criminal!'.
