PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Third Foot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco Antonio Laureana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Foot might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to dumber than a box of rocks. Third Foot has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Foot darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Foot throws a hook but Laureana avoids it easily.
Foot comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Laureana displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Foot throws out the jab.

and Laureana counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

It looks like Laureana might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Foot throws a nice looking combination but Laureana bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Foot throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Laureana stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Laureana manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Foot on his heels. He'll look to pass Foot's guard now, I'm sure.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Laureana has gone for a leg lock! Foot slips out almost immediately though and dives into Laureana's guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Laureana is working to tighten his grip on Foot's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Foot has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Laureana is really squeezing tight and eventually Foot passes out! Laureana breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
