Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chaves shoots in and bounces Fernandes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Chaves trying to control but Fernandes is working from the bottom.
Chaves postures up.
Chaves stopping the sweep attempt from Fernandes.
Fernandes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Chaves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chaves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fernandes wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fernandes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Chaves knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fernandes on the ground.
Chaves tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fernandes forces his way into half guard.
Fernandes tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Chaves.
Fernandes frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
