The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Johan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Johan is working for a submission of some sort.

Johan is working for a kimura but Jackson is defending it quite comfortably.

Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johan seems to be looking for submissions.
Johan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jackson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Johan is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jackson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jackson shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johan lands a big shot there that rocks Jackson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Johan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Johan cracks Jackson with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
