PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Simeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lucas shoots in looking for a takedown but Simeon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lucas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Simeon takes the fight into the clinch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lucas.
Simeon looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
James Simeon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Lucas.
Simeon shoots for a double leg takedown but Lucas sprawls well. He's pushed Simeon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Simeon has Lucas up against the cage in a clinch.

Simeon jumps guard and drags Lucas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simeon has Lucas pulled in close to control his posture.

Lucas wants to stand and escape but instead Simeon has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Simeon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lucas is adopting a defensive guard.

Lucas looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Simeon is defending well. Lucas quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Simeon has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Lucas celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
