The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez gets caught flat footed, as Elliot shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Elliot slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gonzalez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Elliot is taking a breather. Gonzalez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Elliot seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gonzalez for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Elliot in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Thomas Elliot will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Elliot , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
