Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Parks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ove Sundberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Lyoto Parks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ove Sundberg!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sundberg on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Sundberg takes a swing at Parks's ribcage but misses.
Parks misses with an uppercut. Sundberg saw that one coming.
Ove Sundberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parks doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Parks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sundberg moves away.
Parks swings for the body but Sundberg moves out of range.
A nice side step and Sundberg releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Sundberg scores with a jab to the jaw.
Sundberg looks to land a left hand but Parks moved out of range nicely.
Sundberg lands with a shot to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Sundberg. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sundberg.
Sundberg scores with a crisp jab that stopped Parks in his tracks.
Parks just misses with a punch to the body.

Parks tries to sprawl but Sundberg drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Parks is trying to stand up here but Sundberg is controlling him well.
Sundberg throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sundberg is looking to take a break and control but Parks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sundberg is looking for a kimura but Parks is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sundberg to get the leverage.
Sundberg missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Parks is pressing down on Sundberg's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Parks tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Parks keeping moving, preventing Sundberg from controlling successfully.
Sundberg throws a strike but Parks rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Sundberg has his foot on Parks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Parks works his way back into a safe position though.
Parks tries to stand but Sundberg is controlling from the bottom.

Sundberg escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sundberg looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sundberg can't keep his opponent in guard - Parks advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Parks performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sundberg is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parks pulls his head out easily.
Sundberg is trying to control but can't.

Sundberg looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Parks performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Sundberg is staying active underneath Parks, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sundberg looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sundberg is controlling Parks's trapped leg to prevent Parks from advancing to side control.
Parks stalling.
Parks throwing shots but Sundberg is blocking nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Parks content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sundberg throws a leg kick but Parks moved away.
Sundberg walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Parks misses with a looping left.
Sundberg tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Parks lands a left and a right that send Sundberg crashing to the mat, dazed. Parks thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Sundberg is rocked!
Parks lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Sundberg falls backwards - clearly groggy! Parks dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lyoto Parks!
Our winner, Lyoto Parks, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
