Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joao Victor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr WeBL (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor comes into the arena with Lie, Cheat & Steal" blaring out of the sound system. WeBL has chosen Blood as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
WeBL tries to clinch there but Victor circles away.
Victor takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Victor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? WeBL is fending him off so far but Victor persists. Nope, WeBL circles away and we're back to standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Victor is trying to break the clinch but WeBL is controlling him.
WeBL throws a head punch that misses.
WeBL lands a damaging elbow.
Victor can't get the takedown.
WeBL told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
WeBL lands a body punch in the clinch.
WeBL digs a right hand into Victor's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Victor's gas tank.
Victor blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
I was talking to Victor's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Victor is looking to take this one to the mat.

WeBL digs a right hand underneath Victor's ribcage. Victor let out a lung full of air as it connected.

WeBL drops Victor onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Victor is propped up by the ropes and works his way back to his feet!

Victor is rocked!
WeBL stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Oh Victor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Victor is breathing heavily.
WeBL lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Victor.
WeBL digs a right hand underneath Victor's ribcage. Victor let out a lung full of air as it connected.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from WeBL.
WeBL slowing the pace effectively.
WeBL unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Victor! He's leaning against the ropes trying to keep his feet but WeBL is unloading with more strikes now! Victor drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Mr WeBL took some time post fight to say the following; 'The true joy is knowing that when my pathetic opponent goes home to his family, his children will scream in horror at the sight of their father's disfigured face...'.
In defeat, Joao Victor stepped up to the mic, saying 'Sorry!'.
