Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ritchie Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mauricio Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stone avoids it really well and circles away.
Ritchie Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Velasquez has closed the distance and engaged Stone in a clinch.
Stone lands with a right to the head.
Velasquez tries to pull guard but Stone holds him up against the ropes and eventually Velasquez drops back down to his feet.
Stone can't break the clinch.
Velasquez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stone is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ritchie Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Velasquez.
Stone lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Velasquez backwards.
Stone pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stone throws an overhand right that drops Velasquez like a sack of potatoes! Stone dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
