Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hong Caldwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anatoly Grigorovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grigorovich has chosen Glukoza - Schweine as his entrance music. Anatoly Grigorovich is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hong Caldwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anatoly Grigorovich!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grigorovich throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Caldwell was covering up waiting for the punch and Grigorovich finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Grigorovich controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grigorovich seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Caldwell can't keep his opponent in guard - Grigorovich advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Grigorovich wants to free his trapped foot but Caldwell is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Caldwell is looking to escape.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Grigorovich clinches.

Grigorovich tightens his grip and picks Caldwell up, before dumping him to the ground. Caldwell manages to land in guard.
Grigorovich would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Caldwell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Caldwell looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grigorovich accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Grigorovich's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Grigorovich pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Caldwell is keeping the position for now.

Grigorovich slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Grigorovich tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Caldwell gets tackled into the cage by Grigorovich. Grigorovich maintains the clinch.

Caldwell drags the fight down to the ground.
Grigorovich slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
It looks like Grigorovich might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Caldwell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Grigorovich sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hong Caldwell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Caldwell shoots in but no luck this time.

Grigorovich shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Grigorovich showed some decent athleticism there.
Grigorovich wants to pass the guard but Caldwell is defending well.

Grigorovich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Caldwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Grigorovich closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Caldwell to the mat! Caldwell manages to get full guard.

Anatoly Grigorovich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Grigorovich. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Grigorovich lands a left and a right that send Caldwell crashing to the mat, dazed. Grigorovich thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Caldwell is rocked!


It looks like Hong Caldwell has been cut.
Grigorovich lands with a right and another and another! Caldwell is in big trouble! Grigorovich lands again and this time it's lights out for Caldwell! A quality knockout there for Grigorovich.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Anatoly Grigorovich!
