The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garcon drives through with a takedown into Birmiski's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Birmiski rushes Garcon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Garcon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Birmiski walks away with a smile on his face. Garcon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Garcon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Birmiski's guard.

Birmiski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Garcon defends it easily.
Garcon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Birmiski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Garcon's guard.

Garcon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Birmiski is controlling him.

Birmiski is looking to pass into half guard but Garcon pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Garcon is in guard.

Birmiski tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Garcon has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Birmiski to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Garcon is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Birmiski pulls down on the head and he's put Garcon to sleep! This one is all over!
