Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alonso Mckee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alonso Mckee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Jackson wants to work for an arm triangle but Mckee is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Jackson stops Mckee from getting back to his feet.
Mckee wants to improve his position but Jackson is controlling well.
Mckee controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mckee is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Mckee is defending against the submission attempts here by Jackson.

Jackson is trying to control. Mckee wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mckee is trying to stand.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jackson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mckee really is a fat lump.

Mckee drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jackson dives on top into guard.

Mckee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mckee is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jackson has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mckee is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mckee pulls his head out easily.

Mckee decides to stand up.

Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mckee makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mckee explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Jackson looks winded!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jackson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Mckee ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mckee no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jackson is looking to pass into half guard but Mckee pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Mckee is in guard.

Mckee is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackson has wrist control.

Jackson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mckee is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Mckee jumps guard but Jackson stands there with Mckee around his waist. Mckee gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alonso Mckee will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mckee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jackson throws a lazy head kick
and Mckee counters with a one-two to the body.

Mckee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jackson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jackson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Alonso Mckee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jackson looking to sit in guard and control but Mckee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Jackson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mckee defends well.

Mckee with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mckee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Mckee tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mckee stands up over Jackson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mckee throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mckee is trying to control the position but Jackson postures up.
Mckee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jackson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mckee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jackson clinches up with Mckee and pushes him back against the cage.
Mckee can't break the clinch.

Jackson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jackson manages to end up in side control.

Jackson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mckee tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jackson is in Mckee's guard.

Mckee has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jackson has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mckee blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Mckee tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Jackson decides to pull guard.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mckee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mckee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mckee stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alonso Mckee will probably get the nod.

Jackson misses the jab.
Mckee has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Mckee gets tackled into the cage by Jackson. Jackson maintains the clinch.

Jackson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Mckee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jackson decides to stand and escape the position.

Mckee is trying to pull guard but Jackson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Mckee wants to take the fight to the mat but Jackson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Mckee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Mckee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alonso Mckee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mckee gets caught napping as Jackson dives in and scores a takedown. Mckee manages to retain guard.

Mckee has his feet on Jackson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jackson has closed the distance and engaged Mckee in a clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mckee is trying to stand up here but Jackson is controlling him well.

Mckee prevents a body shot from Jackson.
Alonso Mckee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Eric Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mckee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
