The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns rushes Short and presses him up against the cage.
Short goes for a takedown attempt but Burns pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Burns lands with a straight right. Short didn't see that one coming.

It looks like David Short has been cut.

Burns cracks Short with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Burns has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Short to stand back up!

Short is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No luck for Burns with that takedown attempt.
Oh Short is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Burns looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Short thinks about countering with a head kick.
Short is aggressively charging in as Burns backs up avoiding any damage. Burns tosses out a jab and Short runs right into it face first! Short is out cold! Burns dropped down on all fours and is barking in Short's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
