Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nabyr Al Bar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalle Kanon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nabyr Al Bar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kalle Kanon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Bar goes for a double leg but Kanon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kanon continues to drive forward.
No luck for Al Bar with that takedown attempt.
Kanon cracks Al Bar with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kanon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kanon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nabyr Al Bar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Al Bar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kanon's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Al Bar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kanon for as long as he can get away with.
Al Bar continues to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kanon throws a jab when Al Bar was well out of range.
Al Bar shoots in for a double leg but Kanon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Al Bar has his takedown stuffed
and Kanon counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kanon throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Al Bar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kanon won't be happy with that.

More hug and hope from Al Bar.

Kanon gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Al Bar avoids the attempt from Kanon to control.
Kanon has given up his back. Will we see Al Bar going for some submissions?

Al Bar has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kanon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Al Bar controls the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kanon is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Al Bar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kanon throws a shot to the body.
Kanon throws a lazy right hand but Al Bar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Al Bar dives in and grabs Kanon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kanon pushes down on Al Bar's head and hops out.

Kanon ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Al Bar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kanon as he jumps to the side.
Kanon let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Al Bar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kanon's waist but Kanon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Al Bar off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Al Bar takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Kanon counters with a straight right hand.
Al Bar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kanon swivels and escapes.

Kanon scores with a decent looking hook.
Kanon lands a nice shot that snaps Al Bar's head back.


It looks like Nabyr Al Bar has been cut.
Kalle Kanon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kanon lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Al Bar at a distance.
Nabyr Al Bar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kanon jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Al Bar has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Al Bar there as he acknowledges the shot.

Kanon punishes Al Bar's body with a nice straight punch.

Kanon thuds a left hand into Al Bar's body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kanon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Al Bar doesn't seem bothered though.

Kanon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Kalle Kanon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kanon lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Al Bar at a distance.

Al Bar takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Kanon lands with a shot to the body.
A jab lands there for Kanon.
Kanon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kanon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kanon throws a shot to the body.
Kanon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Al Bar doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Kanon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Al Bar doesn't seem bothered though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Al Bar is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kanon lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

A jab from Kanon finds it's way through Al Bar's defenses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Al Bar is defended easily by Kanon.
Kanon works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Kanon keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kanon throws a series of strikes that have Al Bar backpedaling.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kalle Kanon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Al Bar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kanon sprawls well initially but Al Bar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Al Bar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kanon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Al Bar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kanon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Al Bar is really struggling to control Kanon but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kanon is looking for a sweep. Al Bar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kanon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Al Bar is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kanon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Al Bar.

Al Bar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kanon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Al Bar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Al Bar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Al Bar is working for a kimura but Kanon is defending it quite comfortably.

Al Bar perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Kanon tries to roll over but Al Bar keeps him under control.
Well, if Al Bar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Al Bar wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Al Bar looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Kanon stuffs the takedown attempt from Al Bar. Al Bar gets slowly back to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kanon lands a nice hook to Al Bar's body. Al Bar takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Al Bar walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

I would just about give that final round to Kalle Kanon.
I think Kanon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
