Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Adama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alonzo Diggs!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adama tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Adama takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Adama throws a head kick that misses
and Diggs counters with a nice uppercut.
A swing and a miss from Diggs.
Adama has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Adama closes the distance but Diggs moves to the side
and Diggs counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Adama lands a big head kick that sends Diggs tumbling to the mat! Adama takes a step backwards and waves Diggs back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Diggs is rocked!
It looks like Alonzo Diggs has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Adama tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Diggs manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Diggs is still on wobbly legs! Can Adama finish him?
Adama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Adama drops Diggs with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Diggs looks back up at him and smiles so Adama waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Adama tries to close the distance and clinch but Diggs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Diggs lands a jab to the head.
Good standup being displayed there by Diggs as he connects with a hook.
Adama is rocked!
Adama throws a head kick but Diggs moves out of range.
Oh Adama is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Diggs lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Adama up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Diggs from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Adama's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alonzo Diggs!
