Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Randy Hardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dawid Kalina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy Hardin has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randy Hardin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dawid Kalina!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalina is looking to clinch but Hardin is avoiding it.

Kalina tries to sprawl but Hardin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hardin lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hardin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hardin prevents Kalina from improving his position.
Kalina wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kalina flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hardin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hardin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hardin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kalina controlling the position well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardin tries to stand and escape but Kalina is controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hardin shoots in for a takedown but Kalina shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kalina misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kalina clinches up with Hardin and pushes him back against the cage.
Kalina struggles to land a body shot inside as Hardin controls his hands.

Hardin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kalina to keep the fight standing.

Hardin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kalina just stands there and leans against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hardin actively working from the bottom here.
Hardin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kalina is working away from the top position though.
Hardin is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Kalina is looking to take a break and control but Hardin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hardin throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That was a close round but I would say that Randy Hardin will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hardin leaves Kalina with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kalina rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hardin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hardin drives through and clinches with Kalina against the cage.
Kalina has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hardin holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kalina misses the shot to the body.

Hardin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Randy Hardin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kalina not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hardin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kalina has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hardin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kalina throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hardin uses it to pass to side control.

Kalina is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hardin is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hardin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Kalina tries to control Hardin's body but Hardin pushes him off. Kalina squirms to his side and now Hardin has his back!

Kalina misses with a head kick.
Hardin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kalina as he avoids it easily.
Kalina is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hardin with a body shot.
Kalina moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Kalina shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hardin sprawls well. Hardin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kalina gets slowly back to his feet.

Kalina fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
As Kalina looks to move away, Hardin throws a big counter combo but Kalina just gets out of the way.

Hardin is pressed up against the cage. Kalina has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hardin down to the mat. Hardin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Dawid Kalina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hardin.

Kalina shoots in looking for a takedown but Hardin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kalina's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kalina tries to clinch up but Hardin circles away and keeps his distance.
Hardin shoots in looking for a takedown. Kalina tries to sprawl out of it but Hardin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kalina manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kalina slaps away a takedown attempt from Hardin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kalina is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hardin with a body shot.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kalina enables Hardin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kalina manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kalina is looking to control Hardin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kalina avoid being mounted?

Kalina tries to get to full guard but Hardin has control of the leg.

Kalina looks like he's trying to stand up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kalina shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hardin pinned against the cage. Hardin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kalina shoots in but no luck this time.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Randy Hardin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hardin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
