The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowe steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Gaultier. That one must have hurt.
Gaultier has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Crowe finds it's way round the side to connect with Gaultier's head.

Crowe lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gaultier swings for the body but Crowe moves out of range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Crowe has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Lyon Gaultier will probably get the nod.
