PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jaxson Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pena Pulkkinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pulkkinen has chosen Rancid - Roots Radical as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulkkinen lands with an uppercut that bounces Bird off the ropes and back into range.
Pulkkinen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pulkkinen looks to land a body kick but Bird moved away.
Bird lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Bird seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Pulkkinen thows a body kick. Bird tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Pulkkinen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bird moves into the clinch successfully.
A short right from Pulkkinen.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bird.
Pulkkinen on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Bird scores with a knee to the head.

It looks like Pena Pulkkinen has been cut.
Bird scores with a shot to the side of Pulkkinen's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pulkkinen tries to throw a body punch but Bird avoids it by throwing Pulkkinen back against the ropes.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Bird just misses with a elbow thrown towards Pulkkinen's brow.
Bird can't find room to land a body shot as Pulkkinen controls the action.
Bird lands with a right to the head.
Bird throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pulkkinens head.
Bird lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Pulkkinen is rocked!
Pulkkinen tries to circle away but Bird has him pinned against the ropes.
Pulkkinen is still on wobbly legs! Can Bird finish him?
Bird creates a bit of distance and cracks Pulkkinen with a big uppercut! Pulkkinen goes down! The referee pushes Bird away into a neutral corner and starts the count. 4,5,6,7. Will Pulkkinen make it up in time? He's still flopping around all over the place! The referee has called off the fight! Bird takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Jaxson Bird!
An out of breath Jaxson Bird thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Pena Pulkkinen spoke after the fight, saying 'I'm sorry to all of my the fans...i promise i'll be back and win.'.
