Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Jean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zill McSwish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ian Jean has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ian Jean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zill McSwish!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McSwish pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McSwish wants to clinch up but Jean keeps it at a distance.
Jean throws a head kick that misses.
McSwish tries to close the distance and clinch but Jean swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McSwish tries for a takedown but Jean circles away easily
and Jean counters with a series of strikes. McSwish will be more careful next time no doubt.

Jean shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jean showed some decent athleticism there.
McSwish gets back to full guard.
Jean trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McSwish being controlled here, momentarily.

Jean slips nicely into half guard.
Jean takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McSwish tries to get to full guard but Jean has control of the leg.
Jean is controlling the pace.
Jean wants to pass the guard but McSwish is defending well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jean looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
McSwish is trying to stand up here but Jean is controlling him well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Nice sprawl there from Jean as McSwish shoots in.
Jean stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jean wants it to stay on the feet.
Ian Jean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zill McSwish.

McSwish won't allow Jean to pass to mount.

McSwish fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Jean has closed the distance and engaged McSwish in a clinch.
McSwish goes for a takedown attempt but Jean pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
McSwish shoots in for a takedown but Jean shows good takedown defense.
Ian Jean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zill McSwish.
Jean throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McSwish throws a sloppy head kick and Jean moves out of range easily.

Jean throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McSwish tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jean is in McSwish's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jean with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Jean seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Jean wants to stand but McSwish has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

McSwish is looking to improve his position.

Jean passes the guard and advances to mount!
Jean will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jean avoids the attempt from McSwish to control.
Jean lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McSwish hang on?

Jean jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… McSwish is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by McSwish and Jean has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Jean wants to control but McSwish is keeping him busy.
McSwish is looking to reverse the position.

Jean decides to take the fight back to the feet.
McSwish swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jean changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McSwish looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McSwish is breathing heavily.
Jean is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McSwish will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
McSwish sneaks back into half guard.
Jean is taking a breather. McSwish says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jean is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McSwish is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ian Jean dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


McSwish lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jean circles away quickly and effectively.
McSwish shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jean sprawls well. Jean wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McSwish gets slowly back to his feet.

Jean closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McSwish seems a little lost for a moment, as Jean dominates the positioning.
Jean wants to stand but McSwish is controlling his arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McSwish can't do much from the bottom here.
Jean slows the pace down.

Jean swings around for an armbar but McSwish sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jean's guard.
Jean is looking to stand up but McSwish isn't so interested in that idea.
McSwish is fighting to break Jean's control of his arms but Jean is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Jean wants to stand but McSwish is controlling the position.
McSwish stopping the sweep attempt from Jean.
Jean bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McSwish's guard.

Jean wants to control from the top but McSwish keeps moving.
McSwish avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
McSwish is trying to keep Jean in close.
McSwish is trying to hold Jean in close to prevent damage but Jean has managed to pass into half guard.
McSwish trying to control but Jean postures up.

McSwish pushes Jean off looking to stand but Jean dives back in and keeps control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
McSwish takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McSwish taking some punishment here, with Jean in his half guard.
McSwish wants to get back to his feet.
Jean drops an elbow to the side of McSwish's head.
Jean wants to stand up but McSwish is controlling the position.

Jean is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McSwish defends it well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jean in particular looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McSwish wants to control but Jean is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The ground and pound from Jean seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Zill McSwish has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ian Jean is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Jean has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
