Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanjay Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez comes to the cage accompanied by Kryptonite. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sanjay Singh!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Eliza Hachem and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez with a nice cross.


It looks like Sanjay Singh has been cut.
Velasquez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Singh throws out a counter right but Velasquez avoids it with no problem.
Velasquez fails with the takedown.
Velasquez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Singh pinned against the cage. Singh gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Velasquez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Velasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Singh throws a right and a left that Velasquez avoids nicely.
Velasquez feinted with a counter takedown.

and Singh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Velasquez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Singh!

Singh bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Singh slaps away a takedown attempt from Velasquez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Singh tests Velasquez's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Velasquez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Velasquez dives in for a single leg takedown but Singh sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Singh has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Velasquez off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Velasquez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Singh's waist but Singh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Velasquez off to one side.

Velasquez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Velasquez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Singh but Singh pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Horrible takedown attempt by Velasquez or perhaps it was just good defense by Singh, which made it look bad.

Velasquez shoots in looking for a takedown. Singh tries to sprawl out of it but Velasquez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Singh manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Singh was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Velasquez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Singh.
Velasquez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Singh finds it's way round the side to connect with Velasquez's head.
Velasquez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Singh.
Velasquez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Singh rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Velasquez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Velasquez has his takedown stuffed
and Velasquez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Singh lands a left and a right that send Velasquez crashing to the mat, dazed. Singh thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Velasquez darts in looking for a takedown but Singh gets double underhooks and turns Velasquez into the cage.

Singh leaves Velasquez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Singh lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Velasquez tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Singh throws a right hand that Velasquez ducks under and follows up with a left that Velasquez also avoids with ease.
Singh fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Velasquez.

Velasquez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Velasquez lands in his opponent's guard.
Singh pulls Velasquez in close to prevent any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Singh with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Velasquez to score with a decent uppercut.

Velasquez feints a jab promting Singh to slip. Velasquez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Singh slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Singh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Velasquez manages to avoid it.
Nice straight punches there by Singh. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Singh.
Singh scores with a jab. Velasquez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Velasquez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Singh was covering up waiting for the punch and Velasquez finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Singh manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Velasquez is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Velasquez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That kick from Singh tenderised Velasquez's leg. Velasquez is trying to keep his angry face on.

Velasquez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Singh sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Velasquez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Singh.
Velasquez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Singh tries to avoid it but Velasquez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Singh to the ground. Singh escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Velasquez gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Velasquez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sanjay Singh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Singh feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Velasquez sprawling to the canvas! Velasquez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Singh finish him?!


Velasquez is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
Velasquez's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result.
Singh looks to land a left hand but Velasquez moved out of range nicely.

and Singh counters with a crisp right hand that drops Velasquez! Singh lets Velasquez back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Oh Velasquez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Singh drops Velasquez with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Velasquez looks back up at him and smiles so Singh waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

and Velasquez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Velasquez is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Singh has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Velasquez is looking to defend but Singh has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Velasquez! Singh pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Velasquez taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Sanjay Singh!
A relieved looking Sanjay Singh thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
