Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between David Luiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Kahne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luiz lands a nice shot that snaps Kahne's head back.
The fighters circle momentarily. Luiz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kahne avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kahne slips a jab from Luiz.

Luiz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kahne manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
We've been hearing reports that Luiz has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Kahne shoots in but Luiz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Luiz swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Luiz is staying active underneath Kahne, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kahne connects with a nice short shot to Luiz's temple.

Kahne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Luiz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Luiz wants to stand up but Kahne is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kahne comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kahne throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Luiz on the side of the head.
