The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gay Rodriguez shoots in for a double leg but Brandt sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gay Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Brandt doesn't manage to clinch there - Gay Rodriguez circles away.
Gay Rodriguez feints and as Brandt raises his hands in defense, Gay Rodriguez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
