PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dillon Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Paris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weber comes to the cage accompanied by ruff ryders' anthem. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paris drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Weber's coaches at Cozad MMA St Petersburg have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Weber wants to get back to his feet.

Paris tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Paris has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Paris remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Paris stands up and beckons Weber to his feet.
Weber will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Paris.

Weber sneaks out the side door and pushes Paris away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Weber tries to clinch but Paris is having none of it.

Paris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Weber was covering up waiting for the punch and Paris finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Weber wants to get back to his feet but Paris passes into half guard.

Paris postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Weber to stand up.

Paris closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Weber did well to prevent Paris getting side control.

Paris is working for a kimura but Weber is defending it quite comfortably.

Paris throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Weber because Paris loaded up on that one.

Weber is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Paris locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Weber is forced to tap!
