Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ross Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luther Heggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maxwell comes to the cage accompanied by Sonne - Rammstein. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Heggs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Maxwell moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Heggs misses with a double jab.
Maxwell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Heggs blocks a jab.
Maxwell misses with a takedown attempt
and Heggs counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Ross Maxwell has been cut.
Heggs misses with a hook
and Maxwell counters with a right hand to the body.
Heggs lets loose with a powerful body kick. Maxwell will feel that in the morning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Heggs tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Maxwell counters with a single leg into guard. Heggs didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Heggs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Maxwell trying to control the position from guard on top but Heggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Maxwell's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Maxwell wants to control from the top but Heggs keeps moving.
Maxwell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Heggs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maxwell controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Maxwell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Maxwell tries to clinch up but Heggs circles away and keeps his distance.
Maxwell scores with a decent looking hook.
Maxwell darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Heggs stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Maxwell throws a push kick but Heggs slaps the foot to one side.
A countering left hand to the body from Heggs misses.

Heggs pushes Maxwell up against the cage in a clinch.
Heggs prevents the takedown attempt.
Maxwell can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ross Maxwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Heggs avoiding damage as Maxwell throws knees to the body.
Maxwell looking to throw knees to the head but Heggs is blocking nicely.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Maxwell has Heggs pressed against the cage.

A head punch on the inside from Heggs fails to land.
Maxwell trying to control the position but instead, Heggs has worked for underhooks and has pushed Maxwell into the cage.
Maxwell tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Maxwell lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Heggs is trying to break free.
Heggs is leaning against Maxwell and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Still in the clinch, Heggs scores with a nice short uppercut.

Maxwell blocks an uppercut.
Heggs misses with a short punch on the inside.
Maxwell throws a punch but it's blocked by Heggs.
Maxwell misses with a short punch on the inside.

Heggs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Maxwell closes the distance and clinches up with Heggs, looking for a takedown. Maxwell pushes Heggs against the cage but Heggs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Maxwell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Maxwell throws a leg kick but Heggs moved away.
Heggs wants to clinch up but Maxwell keeps it at a distance.
Heggs gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Heggs pushes Maxwell away with a front kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ross Maxwell will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Heggs cracks Maxwell with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Heggs has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Maxwell to stand back up!

Heggs slips a straight right by Maxwell.
Heggs raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Heggs sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Maxwell throws a right hand that misses
and Heggs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crunch! Heggs slams his shin into Maxwell's torso.
Heggs drops Maxwell with a straight right hand, right on the button! Heggs follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luther Heggs!
After winning the bout, Luther Heggs thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
