Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matty Markos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee Pierce has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matty Markos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lee Pierce!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markos throws a lazy head kick

and Pierce counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pierce is looking to work some ground and pound but Markos has wrist control.
Pierce wants to control from the top but Markos keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Markos tries to clinch up but Pierce circles away and keeps his distance.

and Markos decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pierce's guard.

Pierce shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Markos is trying to defend but Pierce finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Pierce is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Markos sees it coming and defends easily.
Pierce is keen to just control but Markos is a slippery customer.

Pierce looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Lee Pierce showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Markos gets a clinch.
Pierce has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Markos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pierce shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pierce was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Pierce working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Markos tries to bench press Pierce off him but Pierce keeps the position.

Pierce leaves Markos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Markos clinches up against the cage.

Pierce gets control of Markos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pierce will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Pierce is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Pierce is working for a kimura here but Markos manages to reverse the position and he's now in Pierce's guard.

Pierce escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Markos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Markos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pierce can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pierce would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

I would just about give that final round to Lee Pierce.
I've got Pierce winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
