Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox works over Almeida's head and body with a nice combination.
Maddox misses with a two punch combination.
Almeida tries to counter with a takedown but Maddox is quick to defend against it.
Maddox falls off balance throwing a combination
and Almeida counters with a takedown into side control.
Almeida is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Maddox knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Maddox wants to get back to his feet but Almeida drags him back down.
Almeida looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Almeida goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Maddox has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Almeida but great work by Maddox.

Maddox really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Almeida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maddox throws a lazy right hand but Almeida sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Almeida is rocked!
Maddox stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Oh Almeida is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Maddox misses with a wild body shot.
Almeida seems to have got his legs back now.
Maddox missing with a left hand there. Almeida was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Maddox lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Maddox lands a big uppercut and Almeida crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Almeida looks OK. Maddox waves Almeida back to his feet!
Maddox is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Almeida had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Nice defenses there by Almeida.
Almeida attempts a counter takedown but Maddox avoids it well and moves away.
Almeida circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Maddox. Almeida falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Maddox!
