Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Koos Doos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Redlut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koos Doos could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tyler Redlut's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Koos Doos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyler Redlut!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ron Honeybunn and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doos dives in and grabs Redlut's left leg, looking for a takedown. Redlut pushes down on Doos's head and hops out.
A telegraphed right hand from Doos misses the target.
Doos has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Redlut shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Doos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Redlut pushes down on Doos's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Redlut is taking a breather. Doos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Redlut wants to stand up but Doos is controlling the position.
Redlut lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Doos looks like he's trying to stand up.
Doos could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Redlut not doing much here.
Doos is looking for a sweep. Redlut is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Redlut in particular looking to stall.
It looks like Redlut might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Redlut is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Doos tries to kick Redlut off but Redlut keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Doos blocking the ground and pound attempt from Redlut.
Redlut tries to pass to full mount but Doos defends it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Redlut displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Doos.
Doos looks for a takedown but Redlut sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Koos Doos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Doos pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Doos wants to clinch.

Redlut bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Doos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Redlut on the ground.

Redlut is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Doos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The strikes coming from Redlut are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Redlut passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Doos!
Redlut pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Redlut looking to ground and pound but Doos is blocking nicely.

Redlut takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Doos keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Redlut working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Redlut raining down hammerfists from mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Redlut controlling his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Redlut cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Redlut scoring with strikes but Doos is staying in there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Redlut has Doos up against the cage in a clinch.
Redlut pushes Doos back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Redlut misses with an elbow strike.
Redlut manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Doos tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Redlut just stands there and leans against the cage.

Redlut ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Redlut no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Tyler Redlut has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doos wants to control from the top but Redlut keeps moving.
Redlut pulls Doos in to control the position.
Doos looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Redlut has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Redlut has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Redlut keeping moving, preventing Doos from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Redlut has his hands on Doos's head, controlling the position.
Doos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Redlut swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A low kick from Doos misses

and Redlut counters by clinching up.

Redlut has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Doos regains guard immediately.
Doos wants to get back to his feet but Redlut is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Redlut controls from within his opponent's guard.
Let's hope that Redlut has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Redlut throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Doos is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Doos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Redlut seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Redlut has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Doos avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Redlut circles away from the clinch attempt.
Doos is looking to clinch but Redlut is avoiding it.
Redlut raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Redlut throws a nice inside leg kick.
Doos tries to clinch but Redlut is having none of it.
Redlut shoots in for a double leg but Doos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Doos is looking to counter punch.
Redlut tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Doos was well out of range. Poor timing from Redlut.
Koos Doos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Doos wants to clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Redlut moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Redlut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Doos shoots for a double leg takedown but Redlut sprawls well. He's pushed Doos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Doos closes the distance and clinches up with Redlut, looking for a takedown. Doos pushes Redlut against the cage but Redlut circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Redlut leaves Doos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Koos Doos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Redlut has a takedown stuffed.

Redlut feints and as Doos raises his hands in defense, Redlut changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Redlut wants to stand but Doos has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Redlut wants to get up but he can't break Doos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Redlut controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Doos wants to sweep but no luck.

Doos looking for a guillotine here but Redlut defends easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Redlut sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Doos tries to sprawl but Redlut drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Redlut takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Doos tries to get to full guard but Redlut has control of the leg.
Redlut is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Doos!
Redlut fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Doos tries to reverse the position but Redlut maintains control.
Redlut looking to control and managing it successfully.

Redlut has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Doos's face.
Redlut takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Doos is desperately trying to improve his position but Redlut has a good base and remains in mount.

Redlut with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Doos wants to hold on but Redlut pushes him away.

Redlut's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Koos Doos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tyler Redlut is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Redlut has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
