PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ken Garrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marcus Gracie was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ken Garrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marcus Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Garrison stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Gracie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Garrison attempts a counter takedown but Gracie avoids it well and moves away.
Garrison keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gracie misses with a body kick.
Gracie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gracie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Garrison drives through with a takedown into guard.

Garrison thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Garrison pushes down on Gracie's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gracie tries to roll over but Garrison keeps him under control.

Garrison is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gracie sees it coming and defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Garrison's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Garrison's guard.

A close round but Marcus Gracie will probably get the nod.

Gracie has hold of Garrison's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Garrison manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

I would just about give that final round to Marcus Gracie.
Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
