Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edwardo Carey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jetvard Steffensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steffensen has chosen Back in Black as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carey throws a sloppy head kick and Steffensen moves out of range easily.

Carey throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Steffensen was covering up waiting for the punch and Carey finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Steffensen wants to stand up but Carey is controlling him.
Steffensen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steffensen tries to kick Carey off in order to stand up. Carey Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

and Carey decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steffensen's guard.
Steffensen wants to get back to his feet but Carey passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steffensen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Carey stands up and beckons Steffensen to join him on the feet.

Oh but Carey is tightening it up a little... Steffensen has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Steffensen reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Steffensen taps out! Nice BJJ there by Carey!
