Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tanner Abbey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Hoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tanner Abbey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Hoon!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hoon as he jumps to the side.
A big left from Hoon misses.
Nice sprawl there from Hoon as Abbey shoots in.
Hoon scores with a crisp jab that stopped Abbey in his tracks.
Abbey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hoon as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tanner Abbey. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Abbey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hoon tries to kick Abbey off but Abbey keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Abbey is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Abbey is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Abbey seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hoon for as long as he can get away with.
Abbey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hoon is refusing to be controlled, as Abbey sits in half guard.

Hoon makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Abbey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Abbey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Abbey dodges the punch combination from Hoon.

Abbey tries to free his leg and advance position but Hoon is retaining full guard.
Abbey trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Abbey drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hoon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hoon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hoon!

You can see the frustration on Abbey's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hoon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Abbey to his feet.
A jab-cross combination lands for Hoon and sends Abbey crashing to the mat! Hoon follows him down to the mat - Abbey regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Abbey is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hoon lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hoon.
Abbey tries to clinch up but Hoon circles away and keeps his distance.

Abbey shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoon tries to sprawl out of it but Abbey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hoon lands a nice shot that snaps Abbey's head back.
Hoon lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Abbey shoots for a double leg takedown but Hoon sprawls well. He's pushed Abbey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Abbey shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoon tries to sprawl out of it but Abbey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Abbey walks into a jab.
Oh Abbey is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Abbey misses with an attempted mid kick.
Abbey seems to have got his legs back now.
Paul Hoon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hoon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Abbey shoots in but Hoon avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Abbey.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Abbey goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hoon rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Abbey's guard! Nice work there by Hoon!
Hoon is looking to stand up but Abbey won't let him.

Hoon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abbey wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hoon is now in half guard.
Hoon tries to stand and escape but Abbey is controlling the position.
Abbey has his hands clasped together around Hoon's back. He's all about the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Hoon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Abbey wants to take a breather but Hoon is having none of it.

Hoon looks like he's trying to stand up.
Abbey wants to control but Hoon is keeping him busy.

Hoon blocking the ground and pound attempt from Abbey.
Abbey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hoon's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Abbey shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Abbey fails with the takedown.
The fight stays on the outside here - Abbey looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Abbey shoots for a takedown but Hoon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hoon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Abbey tries for a takedown but Hoon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown by Abbey or perhaps it was just good defense by Hoon which made him look bad.

Tanner Abbey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Paul Hoon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hoon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
