Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Bennett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kedar Dere!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dere tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bennett swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bennett has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dere throws an elbow but it misses.
Dere fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Bennett has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dere after a bit of a struggle.

Dere turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dere manages to end up in side control.

Bennett feints a jab promting Dere to slip. Bennett then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dere slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Dere misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Bennett moves into range and clinches up with Dere.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bennett pushes Dere up against the cage in a clinch.
Bennett misses with a hook to the ribs.
Dere is trying to pull guard but Bennett turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Bennett is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dere gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Bennett decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bennett connects with a nice short shot to Dere's temple.

Bennett is trying to control the action in half guard but Dere is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bennett is nestled in close to Dere, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dere wants to control but Bennett is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Bennett postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dere to stand up.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Dere shoots for a double leg takedown but Bennett sprawls well. He's pushed Dere's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Bennett stands and steps away. Dere gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Bennett shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dere's guard.
