Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damo Dustup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Abbot!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dustup scores with a punch to the head.


It looks like Tony Abbot has been cut.
Dustup throws a left and a right that both miss
and Abbot counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Damo Dustup has been cut.
Dustup throws a sloppy head kick and Abbot moves out of range easily.
Dustup throws a body shot but no joy.
Dustup misses with a double jab
and Abbot counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A head kick misses from Dustup.
Abbot misses with a straight left.
Abbot lands with a cross.
Dustup throws a left and a right that both miss

and Abbot counters with a beautiful punch that sends Dustup to the canvas!


Dustup is rocked!
Dustup on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dustup tries to get out of the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Abbot stands and throws Dustup's legs to the side, diving into side control.
A lull in the action here as Abbot stalls from top position.
Dustup's coaches at Russian Fighting Community Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Dustup sneaks out the side door and pushes Abbot away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
A jab from Abbot misses.

Abbot avoids the body shot from Dustup.
Abbot swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Dustup lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Abbot sprawling to the canvas. Dustup follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Abbot hang on?
Dustup will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Abbot holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Abbot is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dustup scores with a couple of nice shots.

Dustup decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Abbot throws a jab but it's blocked by Dustup.
A jab from Abbot misses.
Damo Dustup seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dustup will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Damo Dustup is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dustup throws a nice looking combination but Abbot bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Abbot feints the counter takedown.
Dustup swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dustup misses with a hook
and Abbot counters with a stiff right hand.
Abbot throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A looping hook to the body misses from Abbot. Dustup does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dustup throws a hook but Abbot blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dustup misses with a double jab

and Abbot counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dustup tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Abbot manages to move to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Abbot has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Dustup is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tony Abbot!
A less than humble Tony Abbot misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
