Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rex Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saul Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saul Slice has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rex Lewis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rex Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saul Slice!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lewis pushes Slice up against the cage in a clinch.
Slice looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Lewis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Slice defends well.
Lewis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Lewis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Slice doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Slice manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Slice feints a jab promting Lewis to slip. Slice then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lewis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Saul Slice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lewis has Slice up against the cage in a clinch.
Slice changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lewis fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lewis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lewis dodges the punch combination from Slice.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Lewis closes the distance and clinches up with Slice, looking for a takedown. Lewis pushes Slice against the cage but Slice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Slice has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lewis is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Lewis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Slice defends well and Lewis ends up having to push Slice into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Slice missing with a left hand there. Lewis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Slice throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Slice tries to sprawl but Lewis drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Lewis stands up and beckons Slice to join him on the feet.

Lewis has Slice up against the cage in a clinch.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Slice misses with a jab, cross combination.

Lewis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Slice prevents a body shot from Lewis.

Lewis manages to break the clinch.
Saul Slice is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lewis moves into the clinch successfully.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lewis tries for a takedown but Slice sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Slice sprawls well. Slice wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lewis gets slowly back to his feet.

and Lewis counters with a three punch combo that has Slice backing up. Slice nods at Lewis to acknowledge the strikes.

Slice displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lewis.

Lewis darts in looking for a takedown but Slice gets double underhooks and turns Lewis into the cage.

and Lewis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lewis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Slice defends it easily.
Lewis is pulling down on Slice's head. It's preventing any offense from Slice, at least for the moment.

Lewis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lewis looking for a triangle here. Slice is fighting it but it looks tight! Lewis pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Slice is tapping out - this one is all over!
