Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Koala Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Guzman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guzman has chosen La Cucaracha as his entrance music. Christian Guzman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Guzman!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Bear coming out on top.
Guzman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bear could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bear tries to close the distance and clinch but Guzman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Guzman has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bear paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Guzman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Guzman keeps the fight on the outside.
Bear misses the shot to the body.
Bear shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Guzman but Guzman pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bear is breathing heavily.
Guzman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Guzman tries to move to mount but Bear blocks the move with his legs.
Bear tries to bench press Guzman off him but Guzman keeps the position.
Bear sneaks back into half guard.
Guzman is trying to work for a kimura but Bear is defending well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Guzman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Guzman prevents Bear from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bear tries to control Guzman's body but Guzman pushes him off. Bear squirms to his side and now Guzman has his back!

Bear defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Guzman's arms.

Guzman is not going to allow Bear to sit and survive in this position.
Guzman is looking to control Bear but Bear is wriggling around and keeping busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bear is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
What can Bear do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Bear rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Bear wants to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Guzman gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Guzman is trying to drag Bear to the mat but Bear just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Guzman digs a right hand into Bear's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bear's gas tank.
Guzman gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Bear has his takedown stuffed
and Guzman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bear's guard now.

Guzman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Guzman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bear keeps working.
Bear looking for a sweep but Guzman has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Bear is desperately trying to improve his position but Guzman has a good base and remains in mount.

Guzman slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Despite being in the dominant position, Christian Guzman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bear doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Guzman counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Guzman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bear wants to get back to his feet.
Guzman slips a nice elbow through Bear's hands, connecting with Bear's forehead.

Guzman wants to free his trapped foot but Bear is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Guzman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Bear is trying to defend against the choke here but Guzman has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Guzman Tightens the hold and Bear taps out furiously! Guzman displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
