Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Cornwall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armando Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Armando Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cornwall fails to land the takedown.
A telegraphed right hand from Lopez misses the target.
Lopez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lopez misses with a two punch combination.
Lopez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cornwall fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lopez connects with a single shot there.
Cornwall slips a jab and a cross from Lopez.
No joy there for Lopez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cornwall ducks under a wild hook from Lopez.
Lopez works over Cornwall's head and body with a nice combination.
Lopez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cornwall throws a big shot that misses.
Cornwall tries to close the distance and clinch but Lopez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cornwall shoots in looking for a takedown. Lopez tries to sprawl out of it but Cornwall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lopez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cornwall scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Armando Lopez has been cut.
Cornwall will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Cornwall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lopez throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cornwall counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cornwall wants to control from the top but Lopez keeps moving.
Cornwall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cornwall drops back looking for a leg! Lopez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lopez manages to kick Cornwall off! Cornwall jumps back into Lopez's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lopez moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Lopez lands a jab-cross combination.
Cornwall shoots for a double leg takedown but Lopez sprawls well. He's pushed Cornwall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Horrible takedown by Cornwall or perhaps it was just good defense by Lopez which made him look bad.

Cornwall drives through and clinches with Lopez against the cage.

Cornwall fails to land the takedown.
Lopez works Cornwall's body with a nice hook.

Cornwall fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lopez misses the shot to the body.
Lopez looks to throw the jab but Cornwall is out of range.
Lopez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Cornwall feints and as Lopez raises his hands in defense, Cornwall changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cornwall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cornwall advances position into side control!

Cornwall is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lopez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cornwall working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Lopez is looking to regain half guard here but Cornwall keeps moving and retains side control.

Cornwall tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lopez is pushing Cornwall's head away, looking to escape. Cornwall manages to hold on to the position though.
Lopez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cornwall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cornwall has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Lopez is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Cornwall yanks on the arm and Lopez is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Cornwall.
