Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andrew Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Laam OvGod!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ellis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ellis landing a few strikes.
OvGod is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Ellis wants to control but OvGod is keeping him busy.
OvGod is looking to regain half guard here but Ellis keeps moving and retains side control.
Ellis is working OvGod over with some ground and pound from side control.
OvGod manages to get back to half guard.
Ellis lands strikes from half guard.
OvGod really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ellis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ellis scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
OvGod trying to control but Ellis postures up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ellis working over OvGod with some ground and pound. OvGod looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ellis lands a nice short elbow.
Ellis scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
OvGod is concentrating on defense, preventing Ellis from advancing position.
Ellis wants to pass the guard but OvGod is defending well.
OvGod is looking to control Ellis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can OvGod avoid being mounted?
Ellis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks OvGod with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ellis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Ellis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
OvGod looks like he's trying to stand up.

Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ellis is controlling the pace.

OvGod pushes Ellis off looking to stand but Ellis dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ellis winds up and cracks OvGod with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ellis moves nicely into side control.
Ellis in side control lands a decent elbow.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if OvGod can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ellis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ellis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
OvGod is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ellis connects with a decent elbow.
