Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robert The Sponge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mladen Tomasevic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mladen Tomasevic will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tomasevic gets caught napping as The Sponge dives in and scores a takedown. Tomasevic manages to retain guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Sponge throws a big right hand that misses.
The Sponge working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The Sponge postures up in Tomasevic's guard and throws a big left but Tomasevic blocks it.
The Sponge slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Tomasevic controls The Sponge momentarily but The Sponge frees himself.
Tomasevic is controlling The Sponge's posture.
Tomasevic is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tomasevic looking to hit a scissor sweep but The Sponge is one step ahead there.
We've been hearing that The Sponge has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Tomasevic wants to stand up but The Sponge is controlling him.
Tomasevic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Sponge. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The Sponge drops back looking for a leg! Tomasevic is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tomasevic manages to kick The Sponge off! The Sponge jumps back into Tomasevic's guard.

Tomasevic looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The Sponge sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tomasevic's guard.

The Sponge seems to be working for a kimura but Tomasevic defends the submission attempt.
The Sponge has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The Sponge wants to work for an arm triangle but Tomasevic is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The Sponge looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The Sponge wants to take a breather but Tomasevic is having none of it.

The Sponge seems to be looking for submissions.
The Sponge wants to free his trapped foot but Tomasevic is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Tomasevic is refusing to be controlled, as The Sponge sits in half guard.

Tomasevic manages to escape and get back to his feet!

The Sponge drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Tomasevic tries to bench press The Sponge off him but The Sponge keeps the position.

The Sponge is working to tighten his grip on Tomasevic's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Tomasevic has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but The Sponge is really squeezing tight and eventually Tomasevic passes out! The Sponge breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
