The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rems throws a series of strikes that have Da Silva backpedaling.
Da Silva scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rems tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Rems wants to escape the position.
Rems covering up well and avoiding damage.
Rems knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Da Silva on the ground.
Da Silva throwing damaging strikes from the back! Rems could be in trouble here!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Da Silva has his opponent's back but Rems is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Da Silva.
Ryan Rems seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Da Silva connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Rems throws a right and a left that Da Silva avoids nicely.
Da Silva feints with a jab and clips Rems right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Rems is sent crashing into the canvas and Da Silva leaps in for the kill! Rems tries to get to his feet but Da Silva is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Rems is in need of a savior and steps in!
