The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meeks throws a sloppy head kick and Killreign moves out of range easily.
Meeks moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Meeks misses with a series of wild punches.

Meeks takes the fight into the clinch.

Meeks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Meeks scores with a jab to the jaw.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Meeks slips a jab and a cross from Killreign.
A punch combination from Killreign misses.
Meeks throws a half hearted mid kick.
Killreign shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Meeks pinned against the cage. Meeks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Meeks lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Killreign at a distance.

Meeks clinches up against the cage.

Meeks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Killreign throws a left and a right that both miss

and Meeks counters with a single leg into guard. Killreign didn't expect that.
Killreign is breathing heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Meeks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Meeks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Killreign is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Meeks stands up and waves to Killreign to follow him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Killreign misses with a takedown attempt

and Meeks counters by moving into the clinch.
Meeks lands an elbow inside that Killreign shrugs off.

Meeks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Meeks looks to land a combination. Killreign sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Angus Killreign has been cut.
Meeks throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Killreign crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Fenton Meeks!
