Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Mayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Venus Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams gets the takedown into side control.
Mayer parries the strikes from Williams easily there. Williams is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mayer to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams scores with a couple of short elbows.
Mayer can't do much from the bottom here.
Mayer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Williams wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Williams tries to stand but Mayer is controlling his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Williams has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mayer is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Williams off and has taken his back!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mayer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Williams might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mayer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Williams tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Williams is trying desperately to improve position.

Mayer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Williams looks a forlorn figure.

What can Williams do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Mayer lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

Mayer is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Williams has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Mayer has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Williams taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Mayer doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Larry Mayer!
