PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dante Datsik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dante Datsik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conor Harris!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Datsik fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Harris looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nice body punch from Harris.
Datsik dodges the punch combination from Harris.
Harris throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Nice body kick there by Datsik.
Harris moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Harris takes one on the button.
Datsik doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Harris jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Datsik tries to work over Harris's front leg with a kick but Harris checks it.
Harris throws out a counter right but Datsik avoids it with no problem.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Harris fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Datsik is out of range.
Harris jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Harris lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Dante Datsik has been cut.
Datsik pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Harris back to the cage. Datsik follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Datsik finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Datsik looks for the body kick but Harris saw that one coming.
Datsik throws a lazy right hand but Harris sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Datsik looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Datsik misses the shot to the body.
Harris waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Datsik.
Datsik was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Harris lands a jab to Datsik's midsection.
Harris lands with a nice combination. Datsik backs away looking to recover.


Datsik is rocked!
Harris buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Datsik's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result.
Datsik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Harris checks a low kick from Datsik.
Datsik fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harris avoids it really well and circles away.

Datsik bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Datsik in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Datsik definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Datsik working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Datsik moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Datsik lands a decent elbow from side control.
Datsik trying to control the position but Harris is working away.
Datsik misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Datsik postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Harris wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Datsik throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Datsik looks up at the clock and then as Harris takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Datsik smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The ground and pound from Datsik seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Datsik throws an elbow but Harris slips to the side and avoids it well.
The referee asks Datsik politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Datsik prefers to stall for the moment though.
Datsik lands a nice forearm strike.
Datsik working away.
Datsik trying to control the action but Harris is working from the bottom.
Datsik takes a little break here. Harris wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Check out the look on Datsik's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Harris takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Datsik postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Harris is trying to control Datsik's posture but Datsik avoids it.
Harris avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Datsik.
Datsik looks up at the clock and then as Harris takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Datsik smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dante Datsik dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dante Datsik's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Harris avoids a punch combination nicely.
Datsik throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Harris counters with a straight right hand.
Oh Datsik is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Conor Harris seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Harris connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Datsik to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Harris!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Conor Harris!
