PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between jet leet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tre Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
leet fails with a takedown attempt.
leet throws a shot from downtown. Johnson moves away and avoids it.

It looks like Tre Johnson has been cut.
leet misses with a few strikes there.

Johnson darts in and clinches leet up against the cage.
Johnson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Johnson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, leet regains guard.

leet is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now leet is on top in guard.

leet might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
leet manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.

leet is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Johnson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. leet can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
leet bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
leet advances position into side control!

leet lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Johnson looks gassed!
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
leet advances nicely into full mount.
leet looking to control and managing it successfully.
leet scores with a couple of good head shots there.
leet controlling the pace for now.

leet lands with some strikes.

leet goes for an armbar but Johnson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Johnson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

leet is looking for a triangle here but Johnson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
leet sneaks back into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Johnson misses with a takedown attempt

and leet counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard.
jet leet overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. leet doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. leet manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

leet slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
leet works to advance to full mount. Johnson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
leet lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Johnson hang on?
leet fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Johnson is rocked!
Johnson takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! leet's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
