PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between La Tigre Munanaposa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Hoseman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munanaposa comes to the cage accompanied by I'm an Adult Now. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munanaposa doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hoseman counters with a left and a right that stings Munanaposa.
Munanaposa fails with a takedown attempt.

Munanaposa forces Hoseman back against the cage and clinches.
I was talking to Munanaposa's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Hoseman has a couple of punches blocked by Munanaposa.
Hoseman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Munanaposa.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for La Tigre Munanaposa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hoseman doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Munanaposa jumps guard.

Hoseman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoseman is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Munanaposa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Munanaposa pulls Hoseman in close to his closed guard and prevents Hoseman from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hoseman connects with a couple of short punches.

Munanaposa has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hoseman off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Munanaposa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Munanaposa crunches a lovely knee into Hoseman's ribcage.

Munanaposa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Munanaposa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hoseman throws a strike but Munanaposa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hoseman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Munanaposa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Munanaposa has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hoseman is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Munanaposa yanks on the arm and Hoseman is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Munanaposa.

A relieved looking La Tigre Munanaposa thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
