Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Clarke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Stevie Ray has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stevie Ray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacob Clarke!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clarke misses with a body shot
enabling Ray to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice shot lands for Clarke.
Ray works the jab nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Ray misses the target.
Clarke uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ray has time to react.
Ray scores with a body shot.

Clarke shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ray manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Clarke missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clarke slips nicely into half guard.
Clarke drops an elbow to the side of Ray's head.

Ray wants to get back to his feet.
Clarke throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ray is looking to escape.
Clarke thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clarke on the ground.
Clarke lands with a punch from half guard.
Ray avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Clarke.

Clarke is trying to work for a kimura but Ray is defending well.
Clarke is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ray!

Clarke with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Ray is trying to stand up.

Ray wants to try and get back to his feet.
Clarke scoring with strikes but Ray is staying in there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clarke looking to ground and pound but Ray is blocking nicely.
Ray is bucking up trying to escape but Clarke cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Ray tries to buck Clarke off but he can't manage it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clarke throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Ray is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Ray is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clarke trying to control but Ray is having none of it.
Clarke wants to control but instead Ray manages to regain half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ray pushes Clarke off looking to stand but Clarke dives back in and keeps control.
Clarke not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ray on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ray tries to get out of the position.
Ray scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Clarke manages to mount him!
Clarke scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Oh Ray is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Clarke has hold of Ray's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ray manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Ray seems to have got his legs back now.
Clarke throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob Clarke dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Ray misses with a wild body shot.
As Ray backs off Clarke throws a huge counter combo but Ray manages to avoid it all.
Clarke goes for a double leg but Ray avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ray continues to drive forward.
Ray tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Clarke manages to circle out of the way.
Ray moves away from the strike by Clarke.
A little feinted left hand from Ray on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Ray slips a jab and a cross from Clarke.
Ray swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Clarke misses with a body punch
and Ray counters with a stiff right hand.
We've been told by Ray's head coaches at The Cave Fighting Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jacob Clarke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clarke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ray moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clarke thows a leg kick but Ray checks it
and Ray counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Clarke thinking.
Clarke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ray pinned against the cage. Ray gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ray uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Clarke.
An attempted straight right counter from Ray misses the target.
Clarke has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ray takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Clarke misses with a looping right.
Ray jabs at Clarke's body.
Ray lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Clarke circles away quickly and effectively.
Ray is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Clarke.
Clarke misses with a leg kick.
It looked like Ray was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ray misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Clarke.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ray lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Clarke shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ray as he avoids it easily.
Stevie Ray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Clarke.
Donk. Ray catches Clarke right on the button with a cross.
Clarke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ray was well out of range. Poor timing from Clarke.
Ray seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Clarke shoots in looking for a takedown but Ray manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Clarke's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ray takes the fight into the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ray lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Ray breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A big right from Ray misses.

Ray connects with a looping right hand.
Clarke throws a wild body kick that Ray sees coming a mile off.
Ray scores with a nice head shot.

Clarke gets tackled into the cage by Ray. Ray maintains the clinch.

Ray manages to break the clinch.
A low kick from Clarke misses
and Ray counters with a two punch combo.


Clarke is rocked!
Stevie Ray is winning the standup battle so far.
Ray fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Clarke is still on wobbly legs! Can Ray finish him?
Clarke misses with a hook to the body
and Ray counters with a big right hand! Oh Clarke is in trouble here! Ray follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stevie Ray!
