Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Art Vandelay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Blaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vandelay's entrance music is Slayed by Overseer. A fine choice. Blaster has chosen Stinkfist as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Art Vandelay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Master Blaster!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaster tries to clinch up.
Blaster misses with a head kick.

Blaster drives through and clinches with Vandelay against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Vandelay misses with an elbow over the top.
Blaster stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Blaster gets underhooks to prevent Vandelay's takedown attempt.

Blaster breaks the clinch.
Vandelay doesn't manage to clinch there - Blaster circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vandelay drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Blaster has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Vandelay drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Blaster dives on top into guard.

Blaster avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Blaster trying to control the position from guard on top but Vandelay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vandelay looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blaster is one step ahead there.

Vandelay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blaster doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blaster manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Vandelay is breathing heavily.
Blaster postures up and lands a big shot to Vandelay's brow.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blaster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Blaster is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Blaster has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vandelay is proving hard to escape from.

Blaster stands up from Vandelay's guard - Blaster perhaps looking for a knockout.
Vandelay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blaster but Blaster pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That was a close round but I would say that Art Vandelay will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Blaster closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Blaster moves into full guard.
Vandelay wanted to stand there but Blaster had control of the position.

Blaster is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blaster pulls Vandelay in close to prevent any damage.
Vandelay loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Vandelay throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Blaster works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Vandelay has gone for a leg lock! Blaster slips out almost immediately though and dives into Vandelay's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vandelay had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Blaster is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Vandelay Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Blaster's back instead.
Blaster trying to get back to his feet but Vandelay is in full control for now.

Vandelay tightening his grip on Blaster, looking for the choke.

Vandelay has his opponent's back but Blaster is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Vandelay.

Blaster closes the distance but Vandelay moves to the side

and Vandelay counters with a single leg into guard. Blaster didn't expect that.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Art Vandelay will probably get the nod.
That's time! Vandelay's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Horrible takedown by Blaster or perhaps it was just good defense by Vandelay which made him look bad.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Blaster tries to reverse the position but Vandelay maintains control.

Vandelay looking for a guillotine from mount but Blaster is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
BOOM! Vandelay connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Vandelay working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Vandelay is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Blaster is surviving well by controlling Vandelay's body position as best he can.
Blaster is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Vandelay trying to control but Blaster is having none of it.

Blaster wants to try and get back to his feet.
Blaster slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Vandelay is looking for a kimura but Blaster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vandelay to get the leverage.
Blaster controlling the position well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blaster regains full guard. Nicely done.
Blaster is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Vandelay makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vandelay.
Blaster wants to get up but he can't break Vandelay's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Vandelay wants to sweep here but Blaster controlling him for the moment.
Art Vandelay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Blaster would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Blaster wants to control from the top but Vandelay keeps moving.
Art Vandelay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Blaster is looking to stand up but Vandelay won't let him.

And that's the end of the fight!
Art Vandelay showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vandelay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
