PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hans Gruber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Pepinhos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pepinhos has chosen Fabri Fibra - Donna Famosa as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gruber gets caught flat footed, as Pepinhos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gruber looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Pepinhos advances position into side control!

Pepinhos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gruber is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Pepinhos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pepinhos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Gruber's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gruber regains half guard there - taking advantage of Pepinhos's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Pepinhos has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Gruber is squirming around, avoiding Pepinhos's attempts to control the action.
Gruber is trying to escape the mount but Pepinhos keeps good control and instead manages to take Gruber's back.
Pepinhos just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pepinhos is looking for the choke from the back position but Gruber is controlling his hands well.
Even with his hooks in, Pepinhos manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Gruber manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pepinhos's guard. Nice work there by Gruber.

Pepinhos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gruber can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gruber is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pepinhos is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Gruber is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pepinhos has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Gruber is looking to defend but Pepinhos has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Gruber! Pepinhos pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Gruber taps out and this one is all over!
