Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paha Hemmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Adamson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Raphael Adamson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paha Hemmo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Raphael Adamson!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adamson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hemmo keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Adamson stalling.
Adamson trying to mount his opponent but Hemmo defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hemmo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hemmo pulls Adamson in close to prevent any damage.

Adamson throwing strikes from guard but Hemmo blocks nicely.
Hemmo looking to control.
Hemmo wants to sweep but no luck.
Adamson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hemmo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hemmo pulls Adamson in close to prevent any damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Adamson.
Adamson avoids the body shot from Hemmo.
Adamson throws a low kick but Hemmo avoids it.
Hemmo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Raphael Adamson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hemmo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Adamson.
Hemmo dives in for a single leg takedown but Adamson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Adamson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hemmo checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Adamson throws a low kick but Hemmo moves out of range easily.

Adamson throws a body shot but no joy.
Adamson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Adamson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Good work by Hemmo as he checks the leg kick.
Hemmo misses with a few strikes there.
Hemmo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Hemmo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Adamson's guard.
Hemmo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Adamson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hemmo manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Adamson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hemmo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hemmo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hemmo wants to improve his position but instead Adamson has moved into half guard.
Hemmo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Adamson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Adamson's back!
Adamson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Adamson is desperately trying to improve his position but Hemmo has a good base and remains in mount.
Hemmo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hemmo is landing with some decent strikes but Adamson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Adamson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

It looks like Raphael Adamson has been cut.
Hemmo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Adamson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Adamson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hemmo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Adamson swivels and escapes.
Hemmo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Adamson as he avoids it easily.

Adamson tries to work over Hemmo's front leg with a kick but Hemmo checks it.
Hemmo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hemmo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hemmo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

so Adamson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hemmo is pulling down on Adamson's head to control his posture.
Hemmo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hemmo is trying to control the action in half guard but Adamson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Paha Hemmo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hemmo is looking for a kimura but Adamson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hemmo to get the leverage.

Adamson moves into full guard.
Hemmo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hemmo lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hemmo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hemmo trying to control but Adamson is working from the bottom.
Adamson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hemmo manages to get himself to full guard.

Hemmo controls Adamson momentarily but Adamson frees himself.
Adamson wants to pass the guard but Hemmo is keeping the position.

Hemmo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Adamson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Adamson lying in Hemmo's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Hemmo decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Adamson taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Paha Hemmo!
