The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

RioGrande throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mesmo was covering up waiting for the punch and RioGrande finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mesmo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as RioGrande controls the pace.
Mesmo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with RioGrande. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mesmo is trying to keep RioGrande in close.
Mesmo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
RioGrande looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
RioGrande sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mesmo's guard.
